How to prevent injuries in the winter.

How to prevent injury in the winter.

Winter tends to be a time where most people are less active.  It is important to keep moving in the winter to keep your blood flowing and improve your circulation.  If you have a lack of circulation to your feet it can lead to other more serious problems.  It is best to make sure you are safe when you are active in the winter and here are a few things to consider

Be aware of your surroundings.  One wrong step and you can fall and get injured.  Take small steps if it is slippery outside.

Traction cleats are a good idea if you are outside quite a bit.  They attach easily to most shoes and help provide traction.

Cold weather can decrease your flexibility.  If you are going for a walk or run make sure to warm up and stretch before.
