Q: Why does my heel hurt in the mornings?

A: Heel pain in the mornings is usually caused by the plantar fascia ligament tightening.  It can be treated by using a night splint.  When the plantar fascia becomes tight it causes increased inflammation and pain when sitting and sleeping. If you are having any heel pain Contact Us at Our Bismarck Office to set up an appointment with Dr. Brian Gale, DPM, FACFAS .

Q:  Is it ok to be stretching my achilles tendon?

A: Yes, but be careful.  Very gentle stretching is recommended.  You don't want to over do it.  The stretch that works best is a stretch that you don't feel much of a pull.  If you are having any type of heel pain or you have any questions about stretching your achilles tendon Dr. Brian Gale, DPM, FACFAS can help.  Give us a call to set up an appointment at 701-255-3338.
