Size is a relative term. Just take a look at high-end department stores and name brand clothing lines that use vanity sizing to appease the egos of their customers. Right or wrong it is human nature for women to want to be a smaller size. It is inevitable that as we age our feet grow in size. Always judge your shoes by how they fit and feel not by the size number. If they don’t feel right when you try them on they probably never will. When repurchasing the same shoe always try it on, our feet change, manufacturers change any number of things that can affect the fit. Don’t assume it will work because it worked last time.
Another thing to remember: Laces are there for a reason, don’t ruin your properly fitted shoe trying to slip them on. This will stretch them as well as crush the back of your shoe. If you have trouble bending down to put them on correctly, invest in a good quality shoe horn with a long handle.
If you aren't sure if your shoes are the right fit, contact the team at Dakota Foot & Ankle Clinic and Happy Soles Footwear and we would be happy to help.
