"A Splint A Day Keeps The Heel Pain Away" by Dylan H. CNA

Heel pain (Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spurs) is one of the most common things we treat here at the Dakota Foot and Ankle Clinic.

Usually there are a few different ways to treat this, but today I’m going to talk a little about a night splint. A night splint is a fiberglass half cast that goes from the back of the calf to the toes.
Dr. Gale says, This splint will hold your foot in what is called the “position of comfort”.

This will gently stretch your plantar fascia and Achilles tendon or in some cases just prevent you from getting too tight in these areas.

This splint is meant to be worn when you are either sitting down in the evening or when you go to bed at night. It is not meant to be walked in.
The entire process of making the splint takes about 2 minutes and is well worth it! For more information on heel pain click here or come up to Dakota Foot & Ankle Clinic, or give us a call at 701-255-3338 to schedule an appointment.
